Every Minnesotan eligible for CFSS picks one of two service models. The right choice depends on how much control you want over your care.

Hands-off support

Agency Model

A provider agency hires, trains, and pays your support workers. You get the help you need without the admin work. Best if you want guaranteed backup coverage and less paperwork.

How is CFSS different from the old PCA program?
CFSS gives you more choice in how services are delivered (you can pick the Agency Model or the Budget Model), and the Budget Model lets you pay family members as your workers — something PCA limited.
Does CFSS cost me anything?
CFSS is funded by Medical Assistance (Medicaid), so eligible recipients typically pay nothing for the service itself. Your monthly MA spenddown, if any, is unaffected.
Can I keep my current PCA worker?
In most cases, yes. Your existing worker can continue with you under CFSS, though they may need to complete updated training depending on the model you choose.

Your right to vote

You have the right to vote.

Receiving CFSS services does not affect your right to vote. Every eligible Minnesotan — including people who receive disability supports — has the right to register and vote in every election. If you'd like help registering, we're happy to walk you through it.
